Implementation of Galileo E1 Signal Acquisition Module using CUDA

Recently many researches to enhance the performance of Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) Software defined Radio (SDR) is performed. In this paper, GPGPU (General Purpose Graphic Processing Unit) based Galileo E1 signal acquisition module is implemented and its performance is evaluated. Coherent acquisition method is adopted and implemented using GPGPU and CPU in desktop PC. GPGPU is used by Compute unified Device Architecture (CUDA). In detail, IQ generation, code generation and correlation is computed in CUDA, while finding code phase and Doppler using peak detection is done in CPU. The performance evaluation with real measurements shows the effectiveness of CUDA based SDR.
