Performance Evaluation of Multi-GNSS RTK for Automobiles in Urban Areas
Nobuaki Kubo, Hiroko Tokura, Taro Suzuki

Asian countries employ the GPS, GLONASS, and BeiDou navigation systems frequently, while the Galileo and QZSS systems are used less frequently. The increase in the demand for satellite navigation renders the evaluation of current precise positioning performance very important for near-future applications. In this study, several tests were conducted in urban areas of Tokyo using both survey-grade and low-cost high-sensitivity receivers, and their results are presented in this paper. The RTK performance improvement between the GPS-only system and certain combinations of each GNSS is shown. The largest availability difference in RTK between the GPS-only system and all GNSS systems was over 40% of the total period.
