SPEED for ‘System Platform for EGNOS Evolutions & Demonstrations” is an SBAS Operational Test-bed. Thales Alenia Space, the EGNOS Prime Contractor for more than 15 years has developed SPEED that fully represents EGNOS

Performances in terms of:
- Accuracy
- Continuity
- Availability
- Integrity for Safety Of Life services.

SPEED has been designed for a wide range of services, including:
- Performance validation
- System Qualification, thanks to full representativeness of EGNOS performances
- EGNOS Performance troubleshooting
- Demonstration in various domains: terrestrial, maritime and aviation.

SPEED is used today for:
- EGNOS Program, for design & qualification of next releases and support to operations for troubleshooting of EGNOS Performances.
- High Integrity Test Bed (HISTB) , a 2 phases cycle of experimentations paving the way for EGNOS V3, in particular for elaborating algorithms for Dual-Frequency & Multi-Constellation mode (DFMC).
- ARCTIC Test Bed, a demonstrator for Maritim and Aviation SBAS over Arctic region
- TREGA, an EC initiative for GNSS & SBAS awareness in Africa.
- MAGNIFIC, that will comprise a set of 7 experimentations in Africa which include Precise Positionning.
