The Clock Drift Correction Method of GNSS Receivers using the External 1PPS

Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) receivers must search the code phase and carrier frequency within the pre-defined extent to acquire satellite signals. The search range of the carrier frequency is determined by the dynamic characteristics of the receiver and the clock drift. The clock drift depends on performance of the TCXO(Temperature Compensated Crystal Oscillator). The low-cost TCXO degrades the acquisition performance of the GNSS receiver to use it. This paper demonstrates a clock drift correction method for GNSS receivers with the low-cost TCXO using the external 1PPS. The method was applied to the receiver to confirm the improvement of signal acquisition performance.
